“When you recover or discover something that nourishes your soul and brings joy, care enough about yourself to make room for it in your life.”
Jean Shinoda Bolen
Only I can rebuild these broken bones
Restructure the faulty stairs
My feet dragged themselves upon
And paint over the cracks
My hands touched and hit
Only I can crack open the windows
Wide enough to let the air in
Give permission to the light
Let it shine through
In this house, I’ve demolished
I have the choice to create something new;
A home from these ruins and rocks;
One that can hold me,
One with enough space to feel free
To roam rest, run, and sleep
I will nurture every corner of this new house
Today, I will start the plans
And draft the blueprints
I don’t know how long it would take
But I’m excited to finally live
In a home that I should love
